Top Sioux Falls Projects of 2018

This city is amazing. I recently came back to Sioux Falls after 15 years away, and every day I hear of more and more incredible new projects and businesses that are drastically improving the quality of life of all of us Sioux-ites (What should we call ourselves? Has a word been coined yet?)

Here are the four to watch in 2018:

1. Levitt at the Falls. How could we NOT be excited about 50 free concerts per year?! This covered outdoor amphitheater features a gently sloping lawn seating area, state of the art sound and lighting, and a large video board near the stage. Expected to open in 2019, we can expect to see lots of progress in the coming months! Learn more on their website, or on Facebook.

2. Foundation Park.  This 800-acre site near the intersection of I-29 & I-90 is perfect for large companies requiring land, transportation, and communication infrastructure. Companies such as Dakota Carriers and Win Chill have already signed on for the project, and this area will eventually support hundreds of local jobs. Lots more to come before 2018 is over! Learn more about this project on their website.

3. Lake Lorraine. If you spend any amount of time in Sioux Falls, you've probably already seen or heard about the changes happening at Lake Lorraine. Residential housing and shopping areas are already complete and open to tenants and consumers. In the coming months, we can expect to see more restaurants, outdoor spaces, and events. Visit their website or Facebook page for more information.

4. Sanford Sports Complex. Unless you're living in a cave, you're probably also familiar with the Sanford Sports Complex. Current facilities include the Sanford FIELDHOUSE, the Sanford Pentagon, The South Dakota Junior Football Park, The Scheels Ice Plex, Huether Family Match Pointe, and Power & Grace Gymnastics. Golf enthusiasts will be excited to know that they just announced plans to open Great Shots - a golf entertainment facility - in 2019. You can find more information on their website.
